Student life – Study at Tropics

Orientation is a prerequisite for all new entrants to the college mainly in the first week of reporting per new intake made. This will enable introduction of students to the new environment and the facilities at the college.

The college has provided the basic facilities to cater for the student’s welfare.

  • Health and hygiene

To ensure good health and hygiene, the college administers first aid to ill students and refer severe cases to either Musana Health Center or Iganga hospital within the proximity of the college. Hand washing facilities and dustbins are strategically placed to ensure proper hygiene

  • Security

The college premises are fenced to ensure the safety of the college and students property. There are security guards at the entrance and they also patrol the college premises

There is electricity and a standby generator in case of blackouts besides, a running water and a borehole under construction.

  • Printing services

Students can access printing services and scholastic materials at the college stationary shop.

  • Library services

The College has a Library and a Computer Laboratory. Internet services are also provided, a wifi is available and the College Website is operational with a variety of learning and research resources. The college is now on the move to building an electronic library and the process is already on going in partnership with Research and Education for Uganda (RENU).

  • Lecture halls/ rooms

The lecture halls/ rooms are well furnished with single seaters. They are spacious and well ventilated with proper lighting.
